Netanyahu Shares Video Message After Hezbollah Drone Attack On Residence: 'Nothing Will Deter Me'

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday reiterated his resolve in the conflict with Hamas, stating that "nothing will deter" him and reaffirming that Israel "is going to win this war."

Netanyahu's rare video statement, released on Shabbat, the Jewish day of rest, followed a drone attack targeting his residence in Caesarea, though he did not directly mention the incident.

In the video, shared on social media in both English and Hebrew, Netanyahu remarked, "You know, two days ago we eliminated the mass murderer [Hamas leader] Yahya Sinwar. As I've said, we're in an existential war, and we're continuing to the end."

Filmed in a sunny park, with Netanyahu sporting sunglasses and a black polo shirt, he expressed pride in the Israel Defence Forces, saying, "I'm proud of our soldiers, I'm proud of our commanders, and I'm proud of you, the citizens of Israel."

In the English version of his statement, Netanyahu referred to Sinwar as "the terrorist mastermind whose goons beheaded our men, raped our women, and burned babies alive." He concluded with a firm message: "We took him out, and we're continuing our battle with Iran's other terrorist proxies."

Earlier that day, a drone launched from Lebanon exploded near Netanyahu's private residence in Caesarea, southern Haifa. However, a spokesperson confirmed that Netanyahu and his wife were not present during the attack.

Two drones from Lebanon were intercepted by air defences, triggering sirens in the Tel Aviv region. A third drone hit a building in Caesarea, causing a big explosion.

According to Saudi news outlet Al-Hadath, the drone strike caused damage to part of the building, though no casualties were reported.

This attack came just days after Israeli forces killed Yahya Sinwar, the mastermind of Hamas's October 7, 2023, assault on Israel, which sparked the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Sinwar's death followed a year-long pursuit by Israeli military units.
