Nepal Hit by 5.0 Magnitude Earthquake, Tremors Felt in Delhi-NCR
A 5.0-magnitude earthquake struck Nepal on Friday, just days after a powerful tremor caused widespread destruction in Myanmar and Thailand. According to the National Center for Seismology, the tremors from the Nepal quake were also felt across the Delhi-NCR region.
The earthquake's epicenter was located around three kilometers from Garkhakot, Nepal, as per the Android Earthquake Alerts System. It originated 20 kilometers below the Earth's surface.

Nepal is situated in one of the world's most seismically active regions, falling within Seismic Zones IV and V. This geographical positioning makes the country particularly susceptible to earthquakes. One of the most catastrophic quakes in its history occurred in 2015, when a 7.8-magnitude earthquake claimed more than 9,000 lives and damaged over a million buildings.
Just a week ago, a shallow 7.7-magnitude earthquake devastated large parts of Myanmar, resulting in nearly 3,000 deaths and leaving thousands without homes.
