The couple had tied the knot in Islamabad in 2009, and their wedding celebrations were graced by prominent political leaders of Pakistan at that time.

An 18-member Cabinet, under the leadership of Pakistan's interim Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar, took the oath at President Arif Alvi's official residence at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Thursday. This interim Cabinet has been entrusted with the responsibility of governing the country until the upcoming general elections can be held.

The general elections are facing a delay due to Pakistan's election commission's decision to undertake a fresh delimitation of constituencies based on the new census data. According to the schedule announced by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday, the delimitation process is expected to conclude on December 14, which falls beyond the 90-day period stipulated for holding elections after the dissolution of the assembly.

In the interim, the provisional government has been charged with managing the financially challenged country, ensuring a smooth transition of power in the lead-up to the general elections.

This interim Cabinet comprises 16 federal ministers and 3 advisers, with notable appointments including former foreign secretary Jalil Abbas Jilani as Foreign Minister, Sarfaraz Bugti as Interior Minister, Shamshad Akhtar as Finance Minister, Lt Gen (retired) Anwar Ali Haider as Defence Minister, and accomplished journalist Murtaza Solangi as Information Minister. Additionally, Khalil George has been sworn in as the Minister for Minorities, industrialist Gohar Ijaz as Minister for Industries, academic Dr. Umar Saif as Minister for Information Technology, Ahmad Irfan Aslam as Law Minister, and distinguished actor Jamal Shah as Minister for Culture. Aniq Ahmad has taken on the role of Minister for Religious Affairs.
