Over 100 Immigrants Detained Following Federal Raid at Illegal Nightclub in Colorado Springs
Authorities detained over 100 individuals suspected of being in the US illegally during a federal raid at an illegal after-hours nightclub in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The operation took place early on Sunday. Video footage released by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) showed agents announcing their presence and instructing patrons to exit with their hands raised. Many were seen fleeing through the entrance after agents broke a window.

US Immigration and Customs Enforcement took the club-goers into custody, according to Jonathan Pullen, special agent in charge of the DEA's Rocky Mountain Division. "Colorado Springs is waking up to a safer community today," he stated. The city, which is Colorado's second largest, is located approximately 113 kilometres south of Denver.
Federal Raid and Arrests
The nightclub had been under investigation for several months due to alleged activities such as drug trafficking, prostitution, and violent crimes. More than 300 law enforcement officers from various agencies were involved in the operation. Cocaine was among the drugs discovered at the scene, and an unspecified number of firearms were confiscated.
Pullen estimated that over 200 people were present inside the nightclub during the raid. Among those detained were a dozen active-duty military personnel who were either patrons or working as armed security. Some individuals were arrested on outstanding warrants that were not disclosed.
Impact of Immigration Policies
During Donald Trump's second term as US president, his immigration enforcement campaign has been notably aggressive. This approach has led to clashes with federal judges attempting to limit his actions. The crackdown has resulted in more than 1,000 international college students being detained, although some have temporarily regained their legal status.
The policies have also significantly reduced immigration at the southern border. A federal judge in Colorado recently halted deportations of immigrants facing removal under Trump's use of an 18th-century law known as the Alien Enemies Act.
Community Reactions and Statements
On social media platform X, the DEA's Rocky Mountain Division commented, "Nothing good ever happens after 3 am." US Attorney General Pam Bondi also shared on X that President Trump's directive to enhance safety in America is showing results as he approaches his first 100 days in office.
Pullen did not disclose the nationalities of the detained immigrants. The operation reflects ongoing efforts to address illegal activities and enforce immigration laws within the United States.
