PM Modi Hosted by President Putin in a Private Engagement at Novo-Ogaryovo
Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his Novo-Ogaryovo residence on Monday evening for a private engagement. The Ministry of External Affairs' spokesperson shared this on X, highlighting the meeting of two close friends and trusted partners.

Prime Minister Modi expressed his gratitude to President Putin for hosting him at Novo-Ogaryovo in a post on X. "Looking forward to our talks tomorrow as well, which will surely go a long way in further cementing the bonds of friendship between India and Russia," he said.
India-Russia Friendship
The Ministry of External Affairs also posted photographs of the meeting, noting that it was an occasion for the two leaders to cherish and celebrate India-Russia friendship. This visit marks Modi's first trip since Moscow's invasion of Ukraine began.
Upon landing in Moscow, Modi stated he is eager to deepen bilateral partnerships in futuristic areas. He emphasised that stronger ties between India and Russia would greatly benefit their people.
Arrival in Moscow
Modi was received at Vnukovo-II airport by Russia's First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov. Officials mentioned that Manturov also accompanied the Indian prime minister to his hotel from the airport.
In his departure statement, Modi highlighted India's aim to play a supportive role for a peaceful and stable region. This visit is seen as having significant geopolitical implications and signalling broader contexts.
The meeting between Modi and Putin is expected to further strengthen the bonds of friendship between India and Russia. Both leaders look forward to their discussions, which are anticipated to enhance bilateral relations.
