Beijing, Aug 5: A policeman turned miracleman for a new born baby girl who was pulled alive from a toilet in China's capital city Beijing, media reported.

New born baby pulled alive from toilet

Police were informed by local residents after they heard cries of the baby coming out from a public toilet on Sunday.

"Her head was upside down and her body was falling into the drain. We could only vaguely see her feet from the side," said Qian Feng, the local police chief.

Initially police was planning to dismantle the toilet as the drain structure was unclear, but that would take too long.

She just kept crying. I looked again, and thought we should try to pull her out even if the possibility might be slim."

After being pulled safely out of the pipe, she was taken to hospital. She is reported to be in stable condition. She had no apparent physical defects.
