Massive fire breaks out near Dubai Mall

The massive inferno erupted in a building near the Burj Khalifa mall.

A massive fire broke out during the wee hours in an under-construction tower near UAE's iconic Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall on Sunday. The fire broke out during the wee hours at a 60-storey under-construction building, The Address Residence Fountain Views Towers.

According to the sources, the fire erupted arund 6:30 am in a building near the Burj Khalifa mall. No injuries have yet been reported, even though ambulances were dispatched to the scene.

An investigation into the cause is currently under way. This is not the first time, earlier in 2015, a fire had erupted at a five-star hotel near Burj Khalifa on New Year's eve where at least 16 people were injured in the fire.
