The boy is accused of posting a "detailed plan to complete a mass shooting" at Temple Israel in Canton, a city south of Akron, on the live streaming platform Discord. Discovery and Investigation

The Canton synagogue case came to light on September 1 and was promptly reported to law enforcement, as per court documents. A hearing for the case is scheduled for December 20. Attempts to reach a spokesperson for the Stark County Sheriff's Office, which is handling the investigation, and the boy's attorney for comments were unsuccessful.
