Mali attack: Indian-American Anita Datar among 27 killed
Washington, Nov 22: An Indian-American woman has figured among list of 27 people killed in the deadly siege carried out by Islamic extremists in Mali's capital, media reported.
"Indian-American Anita Ashok Datar is the only US citizen to have been killed the attack on Friday," State Department Spokesman John Kirby was quoted as saying.

"We mourn American Anita Datar and all those lost in Mali Attacks," US Secretary of State John Kerry said in a tweet yesterday. "We extend condolences to family & friends and stand with the Malian people," he said, reported DNA.
In a statement released through the US State Department, Datar's her family said that they are devastated by the news.
Armed extremists stormed Radisson Blu hotel in Bamako locking in 170 people, killing at least 27 of them. Twenty captured Indians were evacuated without any harm.
Mali's government declared a 10-day nationwide state of emergency after a jihadist attack on a hotel in the capital Bamako that left least 27 people dead.
Al-Murabitoun group of notorious Algerian militant Mokhtar Belmokhtar has claimed responsibility for the deadly Mali attack.
