Attackers of Malala Yousafzai get life imprisonment

Islamabad, April 30: A court in Pakistan on Thursday awarded life imprisonment to ten persons in connection with attack on Nobel laureate Malala Yousufzai in October 2012.

According to media reports, Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) in Swat awarded 25 years imprisonment to Suleman, Irfan, Shaukat, Umar, Ikramullah, Adnan, Zafar Iqbal, Israrur Rehman, Izhar and Zafar Ali.

Malala case: 10 get life imprisonment

Malala Yousafzai was then 15 when Tehreek-e-Taliban Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants shot her in the head as she travelled on a school bus in response to her campaign for girls' education outside her school in Mingora, Swat on 19 October 2012.

Malala was rushed to Britain for treatment where she made a full recovery.

She has gained international recognition for her bravery and has won numerous awards including the Nobel Peace Prize.

Malala was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize alongside India's Kailash Satyarthi for risking their lives to fight for children's rights.
