Lying In Bed Made Her A Millionaire: Meet Gu Xixi, The Chinese Influencer Making Money While Sleeping
Gu Xixi, a Chinese influencer, has become the talk of the town after revealing that she made an astonishing 3.03 lakh yuan (about Rs 35 lakh) in just one day by simply lying in bed, according to a Network 18 report. Between February 8 and 16, Xixi earned a total of 1.039 crore yuan (approximately Rs 12 crore) from her Douyin shop. This included a commission of around 27.9 lakh yuan (approximately Rs 3 crore). On another platform, her sales hit 89.4 lakh yuan within a week, showcasing her incredible earning potential.
During a recent live stream, Xixi described this income as "hard-earned" and boldly claimed that the more people criticise her, the more money she makes. "Today, I spent the entire day lying in bed, did nothing and still made 11.6 lakh yuan in sales on my Douyin shop, with an estimated commission of 3.03 lakh yuan," she stated. Her message was clear: she does not aim to earn just a few hundred thousand yuan monthly; instead, she strives for that amount daily. "Understand?" she added, challenging her critics.

Xixi explained her reluctance to share her sales figures often, stating, "Every time I do, there is a problem. It causes trouble. This time, it makes the headlines." She further elaborated that influencers often pretend to be poor, stating, "We did not steal, we did not rob. All the money we make is hard-earned."
Born in 1998 in Nantong, Jiangsu province, Gu Xixi has drawn attention for various reasons, including past account suspensions for inappropriate content. She also revealed that she spent two and a half years in prison at the age of 15 due to involvement in a fight. Despite her controversies, Xixi continues to captivate audiences with her bold claims and unique approach to social media.
