Lightning kills eight in Bangladesh
Dhaka, May 4: Eight people were killed and 15 others wounded in series of lightning strikes in different districts of Bangladesh Saturday, authorities said.

Most of the killed and wounded were farmers who were working in their fields. One student was killed and five others were wounded while they were playing football in Tamgail, about 100 km north of Bangladesh's capital, Xinhua reported.

The wounded students received medical treatment at a hospital in Tangail.

The other dead and wounded people were in western Meherpur, northeastern Kishoreganj, southeastern Noakhali and northwestern Dinajpur districts.

These districts were hit by storm when the lightning killed and wounded the people.
