Keir Starmer Reimburses USD 8,000 in Gifts Following Criticism Over Donations

During the parliamentary term from 2019 to 2024, Starmer received donations worth around £100,000. This amount is significantly higher than any other parliament member. Donations and Repayments

Starmer's office at 10 Downing Street stated that he reimbursed costs for six Taylor Swift concert tickets at Wembley Stadium, four horse racing event tickets, and a clothing rental agreement with a designer preferred by his wife, Victoria Starmer. These repayments are part of his effort to address the controversy surrounding his received gifts.

Starmer emphasised the need for new principles governing donations. He stated, "We are now going to bring forward principles for donations because until now politicians have used their best individual judgment on a case-by-case basis. I think we need some principles of general application." He expressed this view during a visit to Brussels.
