Kazakhstan: 4 policemen, 1 civilian killed in suspected terror strike
Almati (Kazakhstan), July 18: Suspected Islamic militants killed at least four policemen and one civilian in Almaty, Kazakhstan's financial capital, on Monday (July 18), security and hospital sources informed, according to Reuters.
It was the second attack on the security services in less than two months.

The attackers targeted a district police station and an office of the KNB state security service, said the Reuters report. In another shootout which took place on a busy central street, the police personnel detained an attacker after injuring him.
Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev called the two attacks a terror act and ordered the security to be tightened in public places.
Seven people were killed in a horrific attack on two gun stores and a military base at Aktobe in the oil-producing nation in June. Eighteen attackers were also neutralised in the counter operation while nine were held.
