Harris's Lead in Various Polls

Another survey by CBS and YouGov, also published on Sunday, indicates that Harris holds a three-point advantage over Trump among likely voters (51% to 48%) as the Democratic National Convention approaches. However, in battleground states, both candidates are tied at 50%.

An Emerson College poll released Thursday shows Harris leading Trump 50% to 46%, with 5% of voters still undecided. This poll surveyed 1,000 likely voters.

Conversely, a Fox News poll released Thursday found Trump leading Harris by a narrow margin of 50% to 49% among registered voters.

Additional Poll Findings

A Monmouth University survey published Wednesday revealed that 48% of registered voters would definitely or probably vote for Harris in November, compared to 43% who expressed the same sentiment for Trump.

The Economist/YouGov poll conducted from August 11-13 indicated that 46% of registered voters would support Harris, while 44% would back Trump in a five-way race including third-party candidates.

Morning Consult's latest poll released Monday shows Harris leading Trump with a margin of 47% to 44%. In this survey, 4% of registered voters chose "someone else," and another 4% were undecided. This marks the fourth consecutive week Morning Consult's weekly poll has shown Harris ahead of Trump.

Other Surveys This Month

Several other polls this month also show Harris in the lead. A Reuters/Ipsos poll released on August 8 found her ahead with a margin of 42% to Trump's 37%. Similarly, an NPR/PBS News/Marist poll from August 6 showed Harris polling at 48%, compared to Trump's 45%.

Despite these leads, Trump has been ahead in at least eight other polls since President Joe Biden exited the race. However, most surveys indicate that Harris is narrowing Trump's lead over Biden and her approval ratings have improved since she announced her candidacy.

Trump's Performance in Other Polls

A New York Times/Siena poll conducted from July 22-24 showed Trump leading by one point (48% to 47%). Another Wall Street Journal poll from July 23-25 had Trump ahead by two points (49% to 47%). Additionally, a HarrisX/Forbes online survey released on June 26 indicated Trump leading with a margin of two points (47% to 45%).

The polling landscape remains dynamic as both candidates continue their campaigns. The upcoming weeks will be crucial for both sides as they strive to secure voter support before the election.
