Kamala Harris' Husband Admits To Cheating On Ex-Wife With Their Kids' Schoolteacher

Douglas Emhoff, husband of U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, has admitted to having an extramarital affair during his first marriage.

In a statement provided exclusively to CNN, Emhoff said, "During my first marriage, Kerstin and I went through some tough times on account of my actions. I took responsibility, and in the years since, we worked through things as a family and have come out stronger on the other side."

This acknowledgement follows a report by a British tabloid, which revealed that Emhoff had an affair with a teacher at a school his children attended.

The report further claimed that the woman became pregnant, but "did not keep the child," according to a close friend. At the time, Emhoff was married to Kerstin Emhoff, with whom he has two children, Cole and Ella.

Emhoff and Kamala Harris married in 2014-her first marriage and his second. The two met on a blind date arranged by friends, and it was "love at first sight," according to Emhoff.

Harris was aware of the affair before marrying Emhoff, and those involved in the Biden campaign's vetting process in 2020 were also informed, as reported by CBS News.

As Harris seeks to become the first female president in U.S. history, she faces the challenge of quickly assembling a campaign against an opponent who has been in near-constant reelection mode since first taking office in 2016.

She has garnered support from key Democratic figures, including Joe Biden and, more recently, Barack and Michelle Obama.
