Joe Jackson, father of Michael Jackson, dies at 89

Joe Jackson, patriarch of America's most famous musical clan, father of Michael Jackson, has died at the age of 89.

TMZ reports Jackson was in Los Angeles, California, surrounded by his wife Katherine and "some" of his grandchildren at the time of his death.

Jackson was said to be in the final stages of terminal cancer. He had previously suffered a stroke in São Paulo in 2015, along with a number of heart attacks. His grandson, Taj Jackson, confirmed the news on Twitter.
