Going by the reports, police officials stated that the incident seemed to be a targeted killing.

The incident comes just days after Akram Khan Ghazi, a senior commander of the Pakistan-based terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), was shot dead by unidentified bike-borne assailants.

The incident occurred in the Bajaur district of Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Ghazi, believed to be a recruiter for the LeT, was responsible for radicalizing terrorists who infiltrated the Kashmir Valley in multiple groups over recent years.
