JD Vance Defends Trump After Elon Musk’s Epstein Files Claim, Calls For Reconciliation

U.S. Vice President JD Vance has come out in support of President Donald Trump after billionaire Elon Musk posted - and then deleted - a controversial message on X (formerly Twitter), alleging Trump's name was included in the sealed Jeffrey Epstein files. Musk claimed this was the reason the documents had not been released to the public.

In the now-deleted post, Musk stated, "Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!" The post gained rapid traction before being removed without explanation.

JD Vance Defends Trump After Elon Musk s Epstein Files Claim Calls For Reconciliation

JD Vance swiftly dismissed the allegation, asserting, "Absolutely not, Donald Trump didn't do anything with Epstein." He also suggested that he hopes to see Musk reconcile with Trump, saying, "I hope eventually Elon comes back into the fold."

Musk vs Trump: A Political Rift

The tension didn't stop there. Elon Musk also took a jab at Trump's political success, writing, "Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate."

Trump responded to Musk's criticism via Truth Social, stating, "I don't mind Elon turning against me, but he should have done so months ago."

A Growing Divide?

As reported by POLITICO, White House aides are currently working to tone down the president's public remarks regarding Musk. Despite the visible rift, Trump remained unfazed when asked about the feud during a call with POLITICO, saying, "Oh, it's okay. It's going very well, never done better."

This latest exchange highlights the growing discord between the president and the Tesla and SpaceX CEO. Musk, who recently resigned from his advisory role to focus on his private ventures, has grown increasingly vocal in his criticism of Trump's leadership, particularly over the proposed "Big Beautiful Bill."
