Javier Milei Sworn In As Argentina's New President
Javier Milei, a renowned Libertarian economist, sworn-in as the President of Argentina on Sunday. Milei registered a landslide victory following people's fury over the country's economic crisis. "I swear to God and country to carry out with loyalty and patriotism the position of president of the Argentine nation," Milei pledged before taking over the President's office.
Outgoing President Alberto Fernandez placed the presidential sash over Javier Milei's shoulders with a gentle handshake. In his first speech after the swearing-in ceremony, Milei said the outgoing President left the country on a path to hyperinflation with no money.

"We need a fiscal adjustment that falls on the state and not on the private sector," he said. "There is no money."
Milei supporters celebrated the big day on the streets outside Congress with blue-and-white flags in hand and welcomed their new President amid the chants of 'freedom.'
A supporter said, "Perhaps it will take us many years to rebuild the country but maybe this is the beginning of a new era for us."
"We will be able to work and strive to fulfill our dreams without the burden of suffocating taxes, inflation, and the strain of a currency system that is crippling our nation."
