Israel's Response To Iran's Ayatollah Ali Khamenei: 'You And Your Hamas Friends Will Regret...'
In a notable and unprecedented development, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei delivered a message in Hebrew on X (formerly known as Twitter), directed at Israel as the nation grapples with a comprehensive attack initiated by Hamas over the weekend.
Ayatollah Khamenei wrote on social media handle X, "Zionist Tyrants: You will never arise from your defeat on the Sabbath, the 7th of October. You brought this calamity upon yourselves," as translated from Hebrew to English.

As per a report in Wion, this message was issued shortly after a televised speech on 9th October, in which Khamenei commended Hamas for its actions against Israel, actions that have resulted in the loss of more than 1,000 Israeli lives since the weekend. He explicitly denied Iran's direct involvement in the operation.
Just an hour before Khamenei's post in Hebrew, he had written another post which read, "The Zionist regime wants to justify the mass murder of the people in #Gaza by attempting to show itself as the victim. Heads of the usurper regime should know that the response to these atrocities will be a heavier slap to their hideous faces."
The official X account of the State of Israel swiftly responded to Iran's Supreme Leader, stating, "It's easy to be brave when you're hiding behind a keyboard. You and your Hamas friends will regret your barbaric actions very soon."
While it is widely recognized that Iran has historically supported Hamas and has been a patron to Hezbollah in Lebanon, both U.S. and Israeli officials have not found direct evidence of Iranian involvement in the latest wave of attacks carried out by Hamas as per media reports.
This message in Hebrew marks a remarkable first for Ayatollah Khamenei, as his X account was established in March 2009 as reported by Newsweek.
Earlier on Tuesday, 10th October, U.S. President Joe Biden along with Vice President Kamala Harris and Secretary of State Antony Blinken, issued a stern but veiled warning, presumably directed at Iran, amidst the ongoing conflict in the region. President Biden declared, "To any country, any organization, anyone thinking of taking advantage of this situation, I have one word: Don't. Our hearts may be broken, but our resolve is clear."
The development underscores the evolving dynamics in the ongoing conflict in the region and the use of social media platforms for geopolitical messaging.
