Ten people sustained injuries, with two in critical condition. Among the wounded were five men and three women, aged between 20 and 70, MDA spokesperson Zaki Heller told local media.

Reports from Israeli media suggest that two police officers were also stabbed during the incident at the Karkur junction. The assailant was shot dead by police at the scene.

"The terrorist ran over several people at a bus station, then proceeded to stab others and crashed into a police vehicle," an Israel Police spokesperson told The Jerusalem Post.

The attacker's identity has yet to be officially confirmed. Israeli media reports claim he was a 24-year-old Israeli Arab from Ma'ale Iron, a town in Israel's Haifa district, with no prior criminal or security record.

However, KAN, Israel's Public Broadcasting Corporation, reported that the assailant was a 50-year-old Palestinian who was residing illegally in the northern West Bank, The Jerusalem Post reported.
