Israel-Palestine War: IDF Wipes Out Another Hamas Commander Who Was Mastermind Of Nirim Attack, Releases Video

The Israeli military on Sunday killed another Hamas commander who had orchestrated deadly attacks on the Israeli border villages of Nirim and Nir Oz. Acting on intelligence provided by the Israel Security Agency, Billal Al-Qedra, the commander of the Nukhba unit's southern Khan Yunis battalion, was targeted and killed in an airstrike conducted by the Israel Air Force (IAF).

Israel Strikes Down Hamas Commander Behind Nirim Assault, Shares Video

The Israeli Air Force stated in a series of social media posts, "As part of the extensive IDF strikes on senior operatives and terror infrastructure in the Gaza Strip, the IDF and ISA successfully neutralized the Nukhba commander of the forces in southern Khan Yunis, who was responsible for the Kibbutz Nirim massacre."

In addition to this operation, the Israeli military carried out airstrikes on more than a hundred military targets, primarily located in Zaytun, Khan Yunis, and west Jabaliya, within the Gaza Strip. The IDF's objective was to incapacitate the operational capabilities of Hamas and disrupt their capacity to launch attacks on Israeli territory. These targeted sites included operational command centers, military facilities, numerous launchers, anti-tank missile launch positions, and observation posts used by Hamas.

The IDF had previously announced the elimination of a commander in Hamas's commando forces, responsible for an attack on southern Israeli communities the previous week. Ali Qadi was killed in a drone strike, following intelligence efforts by the Shin Bet security agency and Military Intelligence Directorate. The IDF disclosed that Qadi had been detained by Israel in 2005 in connection with the kidnapping and murder of Israeli civilians and had been released to the Gaza Strip as part of the 2011 Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange.

Amidst these military actions, Israel launched thousands of missiles into northern Gaza. "Localized" raids were also carried out as Israeli troops encircled the Gaza Strip, according to army spokesman Jonathan Conricus on Saturday. He noted, "We will likely evolve into additional significant combat operations," while emphasizing that the conflict had its roots in Hamas actions. Since Hamas's attack on southern Israeli civilians on October 7, Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip have resulted in the reported deaths of at least 2,329 people, according to the Hamas-controlled health ministry on Sunday.
