Israel-Palestine War: IDF Plan To 'Expand The Attack' On Gaza; Know More About What UN, Netanyahu Are Upto

In an online statement, as reported by CBS news, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have declared their intentions to "expand the attack" on the Gaza Strip. The military has already mobilized numerous reservists and is in the process of implementing various offensive operational plans, including coordinated attacks from air, sea, and land, as outlined in the statement.

The IDF has confirmed that its battalions and soldiers are deployed nationwide and are prepared to escalate readiness for the next phases of the ongoing conflict, with a particular emphasis on a significant ground operation.

This development follows a week of retaliatory airstrikes in response to a terrorist attack by Hamas in Israel. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has also indicated the possibility of advancing to the next stage in recent interactions with infantrymen.

WHAT THE UN SAID?

The United Nations issued a dire warning today, stating that over 2 million people in Gaza are facing a critical water shortage as supplies run dangerously low.

In the midst of this escalating crisis, the Israeli military reported the elimination of two senior Hamas commanders who were responsible for orchestrating an attack on southern Israel that took place the previous Saturday.

Tragically, the death toll in Gaza continues to climb, with officials reporting that more than 2,200 individuals have lost their lives. In the last 24 hours alone, 324 Palestinians have been killed.

WHAT DID THE ISRAELI PRIME MINISTER SAY?

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the nation, declaring that Israel's intense bombardment of Gaza represents only the initial phase of their response to the ongoing Hamas offensive, which has claimed the lives of 1,300 people.

With a substantial Israeli military presence amassed along the Gaza border, Netanyahu assured the public that the current situation was just the beginning, although he refrained from providing specific details about future actions.

"Our adversaries have just begun to bear the consequences. I cannot disclose the specifics of what lies ahead, but I can assure you that this is just the outset." Netanyahu was quoted saying as per Economic Times.

IS EGYPT STOPPING PALESTINIANS FROM TAKING SHELTER?

Recent reports reveal that the Egyptian government is currently delaying the opening of the Rafah crossing, which is crucial for allowing Palestinians seeking refuge to enter Egypt from the Gaza Strip, as per a report in CBS news.

The U.S. State Department had been in touch with approximately 500-600 U.S.-Palestinian dual nationals who expressed interest in leaving the Gaza Strip amid the ongoing airstrikes and anticipation of a ground offensive.

A senior State Department official, accompanying Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in Saudi Arabia, stated that the U.S. has been working with Egypt, Israel, and Qatar to facilitate a five-hour opening of the Rafah border crossing to enable civilians to escape the heavily-bombarded Gaza territory. However, the official noted that it remains uncertain if Hamas would permit individuals to reach Rafah from inside Gaza.
