Israel Conducts Military Operation Against Iran's Military Targets With F-35 Aircraft
Israel launched a significant military operation against Iran, deploying over 100 aircraft. This fleet included advanced F-35 stealth fighters, which flew approximately 2,000km to target Iran's military bases, ballistic missile sites, weapons storage facilities, and air defenses. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) emphasized that the operation focused solely on military targets in Tehran and Karaj, deliberately avoiding nuclear and oil facilities to prevent further conflict escalation.
The attack unfolded in three waves. The first wave targeted Iran's radar and air defense systems. Subsequent waves concentrated on missile and drone bases used by Iranian forces. Israel employed its sophisticated "Rampage" supersonic long-range missiles and "Rocks" extended stand-off air-to-surface missiles, both known for their precision. Each wave consisted of 25-30 aircraft, with about 10 planes executing missile strikes while others provided cover and diversion.

Cabinet's Role in the Strike
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi were stationed at the Kirya base during the operation. A senior Israeli official confirmed that the Security Cabinet authorized the strike. IDF Spokesperson R.-Adm. Daniel Hagari stated, "The IDF is fully prepared for both offensive and defensive maneuvers, monitoring Iran and its proxies closely." He also mentioned that there would be no changes in Home Front Command guidelines for now.
The IDF described these strikes as a response to "relentless attacks" from Iran and its proxies since October 7. Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari highlighted Israel's "right and duty to respond." The White House supported Israel's actions, labeling them a proportional response to Tehran's earlier attacks. US officials confirmed they were notified of the operation's timing a few hours before it commenced.
Iran's Reaction and Regional Tensions
In reaction to the strikes, Iran closed its airspace, leading to flight suspensions over Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon. Iraq halted flights at all airports until further notice due to regional tensions. The Israeli military concluded its response to Iran's attacks with these targeted strikes but cautioned Iran against further escalation.
This military action was authorized by Israel’s Security Cabinet amid ongoing tensions with Iran. The IDF remains vigilant in monitoring Iranian activities while maintaining readiness for any necessary defensive or offensive measures.
