ISIS tells supporters to quit using messaging apps
The terror outfit used to use apps like WhatsApp and Telegram to chat with its members outside of Syria, Libya and Iraq
Cairo, Dec 2: ISIS or the Islamic State has told its members to stop the use of internet-based communication apps like WhatsApp and Telegram as they suspect that US-led coalition is using these apps to track them.
The terror outfit used to use apps like WhatsApp and Telegram to chat with its members outside of Syria, Libya and Iraq.

French officials say that the group used similar apps to stay in touch with the attackers of the Paris attacks in 2015. Ever since the IS proclaimed a caliphate in Syria and Iraq in 2014, US-led coalitions have been attacking the group's positions.
These instructions have come in the backdrop of the US-led offensive in Mosul, one of the biggest cities it controls in Iraq.
ISIS used to use Twitter widely to communicate and attract users but have been keeping a low profile since intelligence agencies have upped the vigil online. The group has also used Telegram to communicate but the account is relatively less active now.
The group even advised its members to switch off their phones before entering any of the bases to avoid the risk of exposing themselves to airstrikes.
