ISIS beheads two women in Syria for first time

Damascus, June 30: Islamic State (ISIS) militants have beheaded two Syrian women for the first since establishment of its caliphate in Syria.

According to UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, "Two women and their husbands were beheaded after being accused of using magic for medicine."

The beheading took place in the city of Deir Ezzor and the city of Mayadin. One couple was beheaded on Sunday while the other beheading took place on Monday, Al-Jazeera reported.

"It is the first time that the beheading of women, by the use of sword in public, has taken place in Syria," the Observatory's chief Rami Abdel Rahman was quoted as saying.

This is for the first time beheading of women by ISIS were reported from Syria.

ISIS reportedly covered up both women and beheaded them, with many people watching, the Observatory said.
