IS threat looms large in South East Asia; Pakistan and Afghanistan new refuge
New Delhi: Terrorism is going to be one of the most important issue during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. India and Indonesia have gone a step ahead by condemning terrorism emanating from across the border to corner Pakistan in the region once again. But the concern of these countries is even bigger as it has reached their doorsteps too and for that these countries will have device some common strategy to deal with this menace.

Former foreign secretary of India Shashank told OneIndia that terrorism was a big issue not only for India but also to the countries Indian Prime is visiting at the moment.
With the attack on Iraq and Syria from different forces including the US and Russia, Islamic State terrorists fled to take refuge in the south Asian and South East Asian countries. They have made headquarters of Islamic Sate of Khurasan to Pakistan and Afghanistan border after fleeing from Syria which brought India and other area within its limits so if it is a visible threat for India, there is an unrest over this issue in these countries as well.
Shashank said that India and Indonesia are on the same page as far as counter terrorism is concern and with the leadership issuing joint statement it has been cemented. India and Indonesia strongly condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations including cross-border terrorism and terror-related incidents in Indonesia and India and affirmed that perpetrators of these heinous acts must be brought to justice.
Indian Prime Minister and Indonesian President called upon all countries to work towards disrupting terrorist networks and their financing channels, and halting cross-border movement of terrorists from terror organizations as well as other terrorist groups threatening peace and security in respective region.
In that light, the two leaders called for enhanced cooperation through greater exchange of information and intelligence between the two sides.
Sources said that some people from India joined the IS but more people from South Asia and South East Asian countries joined IS and now they are retreating to these region posing a grave security threat.
Indonesia having 17,000 island is a big country and Aceh province is closest to India where maximum radicalization has happened that could unsettle India as well. Informations have been pouring in that big number of radicalised people coming back to Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.
Sources said that IS tried to built its base in Philippines. But despite Indonesia and Malaysia being Islamic countries, they don't want to hand over the country to Islamic State. India has been engaging with south Asian countries to fight terrorism including with Indonesia and Malaysia. IS activities is increasing in the entire region. Its not only through land route but threat from the sea rout is equally important. If sources are to be believe then PM Narendra Modi's keynote address at Sangrila Dialogue may also talk about terrorism issue.
