Iraqi officers get training on cyber defense in Turkey

NATO has trained Iraqi officers on cyber defense to strengthen the country's capabilities in the sector.

Brussels, Dec 10: NATO has trained Iraqi officers on cyber defense to strengthen the country's capabilities in the sector, NATO said on Friday.

A total of 16 civil servants from the new Iraqi Computer Incident Response Team were trained in Ankara, Turkey during the course from November 21 to December 2, Xinhua news agency reported.

The programme focused on Iraq's cyber security and defense requirements, including theoretical sessions and practical laboratory exercises.

This training was delivered as part of the defense capacity building initiative endorsed by NATO allies at the 2014 NATO Summit in Wales.
