Iran Warns Of US Base Attacks Amid Israel Retaliation: 10 Key Points On Israel-Iran Conflict
Iran has conveyed a warning to the United States, indicating a potential targeting of American bases if Washington supports Israel's retaliation against Iran. This message was relayed to the US administration through Switzerland.
A statement issued by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin underscored that while the United States is not seeking conflict with Iran, it remains committed to acting in support of Israel's defence without hesitation.

On Sunday, Iran launched a substantial barrage of over 300 drones and missiles towards Israel, with the majority of these projectiles being intercepted. This attack was reportedly in response to an alleged Israeli airstrike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus.
Here are the detailed updates on the Israel-Iran conflict:
1. Intercepted Threats: The United States intercepted numerous missiles and UAVs originating from Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Yemen, all directed towards Israel within the Middle East region.
2. US Commitment to Support Israel: Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin pledged continued support from US forces to bolster Israel's defence and regional stability.
3. Condemnation of Attacks: The US strongly condemned the attacks carried out by Iran and its proxies, urging Iran to cease further hostilities and de-escalate tensions.
4. President Biden's Response: US President Joe Biden condemned Iran's assault on Israeli territory and announced plans to convene a diplomatic response with G7 leaders.
5. Israel's Defense Response: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed the successful repulsion of the attack, emphasizing a collective determination to prevail.
6. Military Assessment: Israel's military spokesperson, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, characterized Iran's actions as extremely serious and highlighted the successful neutralization of cruise missiles launched by Iran.
7. Iran's Justification: Iran justified its strikes as retaliation for perceived "Israeli crimes" and issued a warning of more severe responses if Israel commits further actions deemed offensive.
8. International Condemnation: The European Union, along with countries such as Britain, Japan, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Mexico, the Netherlands, and Norway, condemned Iran's aggressive actions.
9. Success in Intercepting Threats: Rear Admiral Hagari reported that Israel successfully intercepted 99% of the 300 threats launched by Iran, hailing the operation as a success.
10. Continued Vigilance: Israel's Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, expressed gratitude towards the US for its support but stressed that the campaign was ongoing, requiring sustained vigilance to protect Israeli citizens.
Furthermore, Iran's Revolutionary Guard issued a warning to the United States, cautioning against any support or participation in activities deemed detrimental to Iran's interests, threatening a decisive and regrettable response by Iran's armed forces.
India also expressed deep concerns over the escalating hostilities between Israel and Iran, urging immediate de-escalation, restraint, and a return to diplomacy to restore peace and security in the region, as articulated by the Ministry of External Affairs.
