Big names in the tech world, film and fashion industry, as well as billionaire industrialists, were among those invited to the State Dinner hosted in the honour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the White House on Thursday.

Anand Mahindra, the Chairperson of Mahindra and Mahindra group, who had the opportunity to witness the event, took to Twitter to share videos and pictures from the state dinner.

"I promised to share some images from the State Dinner in Washington in honour of PMO India at the White House. It was a pleasant surprise to see how the dominant theme of the evening-apart from the cuisine-was music. From the very start to the finish," Anand Mahindra wrote on Twitter.

In a tweet, Anand Mahindra said that the dominant theme of the evening, besides the delicious cuisine, was music.

One video featured the US Marine band playing the patriotic song "Ae mere watan ke logon."

Another tweet showcased the incredible skills of virtuoso violinist Joshua Bell.

Anand Mahindra also shared a clip of an A Capella group called Penn Masala from U Penn.

In his address at the State Dinner, Prime Minister Modi applauded the role of Indian Americans in the all-round development of the nation they live in and playing a significant role in strengthening the India-US relationship.

"The guests here symbolise so much about the US-India relationship - our energy, our dynamism, and our potential," PM Modi said.

"You have gathered a group of exceptionally talented and remarkable people tonight, I must commend you for that," he said thanking President Biden and the first lady for hosting the dinner and raised a toast for his wonderful hosts," he added.
