Indian-Origin Family Missing in US Found Dead After Tragic Car Crash

A family of four Indian-origin individuals, who had gone missing during a road trip in the United States, have been found dead following a fatal car crash. The victims have been identified as Dr. Kishore Divan, Mrs. Asha Divan, Mr. Shailesh Divan, and Mrs. Gita Divan. The group had been reported missing from Buffalo, New York, after failing to reach their destination in Moundsville, West Virginia.

The elderly family members were last seen on July 29 around 2:45 PM at a Burger King outlet on Peach Street in Erie, Pennsylvania. Surveillance footage showed two members of the group entering the restaurant. Their light green Toyota Camry, bearing New York license plate EKW2611, was also spotted heading south on Interstate 79 by a Pennsylvania State Trooper's license plate reader.

The family was en route from Buffalo to Pittsburgh and had planned to continue on to Moundsville, where they had pre-booked accommodation at Prabhupada's Palace of Gold. However, they never arrived. The last known credit card transaction took place at the Burger King, and their phones reportedly stopped sending signals shortly after 3:00 AM on Wednesday, July 30. Cell tower data had placed their devices in the Moundsville and Wheeling, West Virginia areas.

Authorities launched a multi-agency search effort that included the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, Pennsylvania State Police, and other local law enforcement units. A missing persons report was filed in Buffalo, and photographs of the family, their vehicle, and surveillance footage were released to the public.

On August 3, officials confirmed that the vehicle was involved in a crash, resulting in the deaths of all four occupants. Details regarding the exact location and cause of the crash are still under investigation.

"We extend our deepest condolences to the Divan family and loved ones during this difficult time," said an official from the Marshall County Sheriff's Office. "Our agencies worked tirelessly to locate the missing persons, and we are saddened by the outcome."

Investigators continue to examine the circumstances of the accident and have urged anyone with relevant information to contact local authorities.
