A distress call in the Arabian Sea was responded to by the Indian Navy, with urgent medical aid provided to an Iranian fishing vessel carrying 20 Pakistani crew members after one of its crew members nearly drowned.

Indian Navy Assists Fishing Vessel - Here's What We Know
A team of medical specialists from INS Sumedha boarded the vessel and administered immediate medical aid to a crew member experiencing laboured breathing and active seizures. Following medical treatment, the patient's condition improved significantly, with the statement noting that the individual became oriented, conscious, and clinically stable.
The navy's statement emphasized that the relentless efforts undertaken by mission-deployed units of the Indian Navy underscore its steadfast commitment to safeguarding and assisting seafarers operating in the region. In a separate incident in March, an Iranian fishing vessel hijacked by armed pirates near Somalia was successfully rescued by the Indian Navy. The vessel, Al-Kambar 786, was seized by nine pirates southwest of Socotra, Yemen, in the Arabian Sea, on March 28.
Indian naval ships INS Sumedha and INS Trishul intervened, employing "intense coercive tactical measures" for over 12 hours, leading to the surrender of the pirates. The captured pirates were brought to India to face charges under domestic laws against piracy, while the crew of 23 Pakistani nationals aboard the fishing vessel underwent medical examinations and were deemed fit to resume their fishing activities.
