Sukhpal claimed that he was a production manager for a Bollywood film studio. A complaint has been filed against him in Brooklyn Federal Court.

He claimed himself be an employee of Seven Star Film Productions, but when pressed by Customs and Border Protection officers, admitted he was unemployed.

Two Indian Americans who recruited foreign workers mainly from India with purported IT expertise were also arrested in New Jersey on May 13 on charges of H-1B visa fraud.
