Indian Embassy Official Dies Under Mysterious Circumstances In US

An Indian Embassy official was found dead under mysterious circumstances within the premises of the embassy, according to a statement released by officials on Friday.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, September 18, and is now the subject of an investigation by both local law enforcement and the US Secret Service.

Authorities are considering multiple possibilities, including the potential of suicide, as reported by the news agency PTI.

The Indian Embassy issued a statement expressing their sorrow over the incident: "With deep regret, we wish to confirm that a member of the Embassy of India passed away in the evening of 18th September 2024. We are in touch with all relevant agencies and members of the family to ensure the swift transfer of the mortal remains to India."

Out of respect for the family's privacy, the embassy refrained from releasing further details about the deceased.

"Additional details regarding the deceased are not being released out of concern for the family's privacy. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family in this time of grief," the statement added.
