India Celebrates 75th Republic Day: A Symbol of Peace, Stability, Innovation, and Prosperity
Indias Ambassador to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, addressed the Indian-American community and embassy officials during the 75th Republic Day celebrations in Washington DC. He emphasized Indias remarkable progress as a symbol of peace, stability, innovation, and prosperity. Sandhu highlighted Indias unique ability to converge diverse elements, such as science and spirituality, ancient and modern, unity and diversity, physical and digital, and bilateral friendships and plural-lateral bondings.
On the occasion of India's 75th Republic Day, India's Ambassador to the United States, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, expressed pride in India's achievements and highlighted its role as a beacon of peace, stability, innovation, and prosperity. The Republic Day celebrations at the Indian Embassy in Washington, D.C., were attended by a large number of Indian-American community leaders and embassy officials.

Convergence of Science and Spirituality
Ambassador Sandhu emphasized India's unique ability to converge science and spirituality, ancient and modern, unity and diversity, physical and digital, and bilateral friendships with plural-lateral bondings. He noted that India's journey over the last 75 years has been marked by significant achievements, inspiring the nation to aim even higher in the years to come.
Historic Milestones
Sandhu highlighted several historic milestones achieved by India in the past year. These include India's G20 presidency, which brought together diverse opinions and generated consensus; India's commitment to being a voice for the global south, reflected in the Summit and the inclusion of Africa in the G20; India's Chandrayaan mission reaching the moon; and the launch of the Global Biofuels Alliance, reflecting India's commitment to green growth.
Strengthening Bilateral Ties
The Ambassador also highlighted the strengthening of bilateral ties between India and the United States. He mentioned Prime Minister Modi's historic state visit to the US in June 2022, which showcased both ceremonial and substantive aspects, as well as President Joe Biden's visit to India in September. The launch of the India-US Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET) marked a significant step in taking the tech partnership between the two countries to the next level.
Cooperation in Diverse Areas
Sandhu emphasized the close cooperation between India and the US in various areas, including technology, trade, space, semiconductors, healthcare, energy, and people-to-people exchanges. He noted that the two countries' engagements in multilateral forums, such as the G20, Quad, and I2U2, demonstrate the positive impact of their partnership, not only for their citizens but also for the world at large.
