India should not meddle in Maldives: China
India should stop intervening in Male, the Chinese have said. An editorial in the Global Times suggests that China is not happy with India intervening in Maldives which has plunged into crisis.

India had said on Tuesday that it was disturbed by the declaration of emergency in Maldives. It said that the arrests of the judges and political figures are a matter of grave concern.
The editorial in the Global Times states that New Delhi has no justification in meddling in Maldives. Political struggles are supposed to be internal affairs. New Delhi has no justification to intervene in Male's affairs. The Maldives regime must be under huge pressure, the editorial also said.
The editorial comes at a time when several opposition leaders in Maldives accusing China of meddling in its affairs. Several leaders say that President Abdulla Yameen has thrown caution to the laws of the land thanks to the backing of the Chinese.
