India Requests Pakistan To Extradite Terrorist Hafiz Saeed

On Friday, the spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, Arindam Bagchi, mentioned that the government asked Pakistan to send Hafiz Saeed to India. Saeed is known as the mastermind behind the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. Bagchi said it's a recent request to Pakistan to give over the terrorist so he can be tried in India. He also stated that Saeed is wanted for many cases in India.

Addressing the media, Arindam Bagchi said, "We have conveyed a request along with relevant supporting documents to the Government of Pakistan to extradite him to extradite him to India to face trial in a particular case."

Terrorist Hafiz Saeed

The Government of India requested Pakistan to hand over US-designated terrorist Hafiz Saeed after media reports claimed that Hafiz Saeed's son Talha Saeed is going to contest the upcoming General Elections of Pakistan. Saeed's Pakistan Markazi Muslim League (PMML) will contest the polls on all seats of Pakistan, according to reports.

Registering a strong condemnation, Bagchi said "radical elements participating in elections in Pakistan is not something new."

"Wouldn't want to comment on election processes in other countries. However, radical elements participating in elections, and mainstreaming of radical, extremist elements is not new in Pakistan," Arindam Bagchi said.

"Such developments have serious implications for the security of our region. On our part, we will, of course, continue to monitor all developments that imply our national security," he added.

Bagchi also shared his views on the Qatar court's recent decision to reduce the death sentences of eight former Indian Navy personnel. He said, "We would like to go through the judgment first. We will discuss it with our legal team and then speak about it, as it is a sensitive issue we will discuss with the families of the sailors."
