Beijing, Oct 23: India and China on Wednesday signed a border defence agreement here. It was signed during a meeting between Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang. Nine pacts were inked during the talks.

According to sources, both sides decided that there will be no limit on the number of troops and that both sides will try to avoid a Depsang-like situation.

Both countries will also have local-level exercise and border meet.

The two sides will also establish more communication levels between the armed forces.

India and China will also sign an accord on investment trade and culture.

The two big neighbours have witnessed flare-up in the border region between them time and again and a major diplomatic row affected the bilateral relations ahead of Keqiang's visit to India earlier this year.

The two nations even went to a war over the borders in 1962.
