Elon Musk To Paul Romer: PM Modi Meets Global Leaders In US On Day 1 [See Pics]
On the first day of his historic US state visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met prominent US personalities from different walks of life to discuss improving collaboration between India and US universities.
PM Modi's meeting with Elon Musk was the highlight as he announced Tesla's plan to come to India. Calling himself a 'fan of PM Modi', Elon Musk said he will be visiting the country next year.
Besides Musk, the prime minister also met astrophysicist and author Neil deGrasse Tyson, Nobel laureate economist Paul Romer, author Nicholas Nassim Taleb and investor Ray Dalio.
PM Modi meets Agricultural scientists
Agricultural scientist Professor Rattan Lal said he had discussions with PM Modi on how agriculture can be a solution to climate change.
"It was an excellent meeting. He has made us very proud of being Indian...we hope that we will have an opportunity to serve India through the policy that PM Modi has," Prof Lal said.

Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson who met PM Modi said what India can accomplish has no limits.
"Obviously, he reserved his conversations about space for me, and I guess Elon (musk) was here a few minutes before I got here. But it's clear that space matters quite a bit to the Prime Minister, so I was delighted to hear about future programs that he has in mind. I'm quite sure I'm not alone when I say the potential for what India can accomplish knows no limits," Tyson said.
Nassim Nicholas Taleb

"Professor Nassim Nicholas Taleb has interesting perspectives on many issues and I had the opportunity to hear them on some of those subjects. He was greatly interested in India's development strides. I emphasised how we are nurturing a spirit of enterprise and risk-taking among our youth," said PM Modi.
Robert Thurman

PM Modi met Prof. Robert Thurman, American Buddhist scholar, author, and Padma Shri awardee, in New York, USA.
Prime Minister and Prof Thurman exchanged perspectives on how Buddhist values can act as a guiding light for finding solutions to global challenges. They also discussed India's Buddhist connection and efforts being made by India for the preservation of Buddhist heritage.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi meets Grammy award-winning Indian-American singer Falu (Falguni Shah) and her family in New York.
"It was so nice to see him, we have worked together for 6 months. He loved the album cover and the song. He said let's hope a lot of people benefit from the song and the cause is taken care of," says Falguni Shah.

Professor Paul Romer after meeting PM Modi in New York, said "It was a great meeting. We talked about the importance of successful urban development. He understands these issues very well. PM articulated very well that urbanisation is not a problem. It's an opportunity. I take this as a slogan. India can show the way to the World on the authentication front with programs like Aadhaar."
