Imran Khan's Close Aide Says Pakistan Is Bleeding Because Of Pak Army Chief Asim Munir’s Ego

In the wake of India's decisive action, termed 'Operation Sindoor', aimed at eliminating terrorists and terror camps within Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), common man of Pakistan has started pointing fingers at Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir for exacerbating tensions with India.

As per Press Information Bureau, India eliminated at least 17 terrorists and over 60 got injured linked to error organisations, namely Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed.

Now, when Indian armed forces have given a befitting reply to Pakistan's misadventure, a stir within Pakistan has started.

A close aide to jailed former Pakistan PM Imran Khan blamed Gen Munir for what they perceive as his role in dragging Pakistan into a confrontation with India.

The operation specifically targeted nine terror infrastructure sites, resulting in substantial damage to the terror networks operating from PoJK and Pakistan.

Criticism towards General Munir has not been limited to his handling of the conflict with India. Sources suggest that Munir's approach since taking office has been marked by a confrontational stance, especially in relation to domestic issues and the support garnered by Imran Khan and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). His aggressive rhetoric, including statements about Kashmir being Pakistan's "jugular vein" and references to the two-nation theory, is seen as contributing to a divisive agenda within the country.

In an apparent protest against the current administration's handling of the situation and what is perceived as a lack of inclusivity and earnestness in political dialogue, Imran Khan announced that his party, the PTI, would abstain from attending a government briefing on the ongoing tensions between Pakistan and India.

The PTI justified this decision by questioning the sincerity of the government's efforts to forge a national consensus and the exclusion of vital national figures like Khan from the discussion.
