Imran Khan’s Sister Targets Army Chief Asim Munir, Calls Him ‘Radical Islamist’ Who Wants War with India

Jailed former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's sister Aleema Khan has launched a strong attack on Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, alleging that he is a "radical Islamist" who seeks confrontation with India.

Her comments were made during an interview on "The World with Yalda Hakim" on Sky News, where she drew sharp contrasts between Munir and her brother.

Aleema Khan's Sharp Critique of the Army Chief

Aleema claimed that Munir's worldview is shaped by what she described as "Islamic radicalisation" and that this mindset pushes him toward hostility with India.

"Asim Munir is a very radicalised Islamist and Islamic conservative. This is the reason why he yearns for a war with India. His Islamic radicalisation and conservatism force him to fight against those who don't believe in Islam," she said on the show.

She argued that Munir's ideology stands in opposition to how Imran Khan views regional relations, particularly with India.

Imran Khan's Approach Compared with Asim Munir's

According to Aleema, Imran Khan's way of thinking is far more liberal and focused on engagement rather than confrontation. She insisted that her brother consistently attempted to build healthy ties with India when in office.

"Whenever Imran Khan comes to power, you will see that he always tries to befriend India, and even the BJP. Whenever there is this radical Islamist, Asim Munir, you will see that there will be war with India and not just India, even the allies of India will suffer," she said.

She also urged Western governments to intensify pressure for Imran Khan's release and described him as an "asset".

Sister Allowed to Meet Imran Khan Amid Health Rumours

As speculation grew about Imran Khan's health and concerns voiced by his family members, jail authorities at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi permitted his other sister, Uzma Khanum, to meet him on Tuesday, according to The Dawn.

Uzma entered the jail while a large group of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf supporters waited outside. The meeting followed protests by PTI workers outside the Islamabad High Court and Adiala Jail, where the party accused authorities of restricting Imran Khan's visitation rights and blocking access for both family members and senior leaders for several weeks.

Fresh Claims After Sister's Meeting

PTI's US social media handle circulated a video showing Uzma Khanum speaking to reporters after meeting her brother. In the footage, she stated, "Imran Khan's health is perfectly fine. However, he said that they are subjecting him to 'mental torture', and that Asim Munir is responsible for all of this."

Rumours about Imran Khan's death had intensified recently after his family reportedly faced repeated denials of permission to see him despite existing court orders that allowed visits.
