I Take Responsibility For Loss, I Am Sorry: Rishi Sunak On UK General Election 2024 Defeat
UK General Election 2024 Results: UK Prime Minister and leader for the Conservative Party Rishi Sunak on Friday accepted his party's defeat after trends indicated the Labour Party's landslide victory.
According to the trends, the Labour Party won over 300 seats, while Sunak's Conservative Party is ahead on 61.

"The Labour Party has won this general election, and I've called Sir Keir Starmer to congratulate him on his victory. Today, power will change hands in a peaceful and orderly manner, with goodwill on all sides. That is something that should give us all confidence in our country's stability and future," Rishi Sunak said while addressing his supporters in Richmond and Northern Allerton.
"I am sorry. I take responsibility for the loss," he added."
"The Labour Party has won this general election, and I have called Sir Keir Starmer to congratulate him on his victory," Rishi Sunak said, adding that he will now head to London, where he will say more about the UK General Elections 2024 result, before stepping down as the prime minister.
He said that he gave his all to fulfil his duties.
After 14 years, the Labour Party will make a return to power and the victor has surpassed their own best performance since Tony Blair's sweeping victory in 1997. The Labour Party is likely to secure 410 seats his time.
Keir Starmer is scheduled to be appointed Prime Minister later today.
"Tonight, the voices of people here and across the nation have been heard, and they're ready for change," he stated. "The change begins right here."
Starmer, whose father was a toolmaker and mother a nurse, has pledged "a decade of national renewal" following years of austerity after the financial crash, the disruptions of Brexit, and a persistent cost-of-living crisis.
