Humans a hybrid of a pig and chimpanzee, claims top geneticist

Washington, Dec 5: Eugene McCarthy of the University of Georgia and a leading authorities on animal hybridisation has claimed that human being is a

offspring of a male pig and a female chimpanzee.

McCarthy's hypothesis says that though human beings have many features in common with the chimpanzee, it also adds that there is only one animal which has all the characteristics that distinguish man from his primate cousins and that is the pig.

Many of man's physical characteristics are porcine, claimed the scientist

According to the geneticist, traits like thick layer of subcutaneous fat, light-coloured eyes, hairless skin, protruding noses and heavy eyelashes are porcine, a Daily Mail report said.

McCarthy said if human beings are compared with non-mammals or invertebrates like crocodile, octopus, dragonfly or anything else, only pigs and chimpanzees look similar to the human beings.

McCarthy also said that Charles Darwin told only half the story of human evolution.
