Houston flood: Two explosions at Arkema chemical plant in Texas
Two explosions have been reported at a chemical plant located at Crosby near the flooded US city of Houston on Thursday.
It is learnt that the plant lost the ability to refrigerate chemical compounds that need to be kept cool.
The company had earlier warned that there was no way to prevent an explosion.
Around 300 homes were evacuated in preparation for the possible blast. However, officials said a woman may still be in evacuating zone but not confirmed.
After the blast, one deputy was taken to hospital after inhaling fumes from Archem plant in Crosby. Nine others drove themselves to the hospital as a precaution.
