Hours before Kim summit, Trump tweets to take a dig at critics
US President Donald Trump on Tuesday, June 12, tweeted hours before his historic meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un saying: "We will all know soon whether or not a real deal, unlike those of the past, can happen!"
Trump, who shook hands with Kim at the Capella Hotel in Sentosa Island, at 9.05 am local time in Singapore, showed to the world how much excited he was to prove that his decision to go ahead with the talks was not without its merit.
Taking a dig at his critics in another tweet, Trump said: "The fact that I am having a meeting is a major loss for the U.S., say the haters & losers. We have our hostages, testing, research and all missle launches have stoped, and these pundits, who have called me wrong from the beginning, have nothing else they can say! We will be fine!"

Trump is known for making goofups with his spellings (remember the mysterious "covfefe"?) and it was yet again a case on Tuesday. But Trump was in no mood to spare his distractors. He made history on Tuesday by becoming the first president of the US to hold a direct meeting with a North Korean leader.
Trump accepted Kim's proposal for direct talks via a top South Korean official in the US in March despite the fact that two had a serious confrontation over Pyongyang's nuclear ambitions even six months ago.
Meetings between staffs and representatives are going well and quickly....but in the end, that doesn’t matter. We will all know soon whether or not a real deal, unlike those of the past, can happen!

Whether the June 12 will be effective or ineffective, there is no denying that Trump challenged the status quo through his gut-driven action which could see a major breakthrough in the Korean Peninsula as well as East Asia as a whole.
Trump also tweeted about his country's domestic developments from the hotel in Singapore which proved that he was not cut off from his home politics even while attending a high-pressure summit. This gesture will undoubtedly help Trump to gather more confidence from his constituency as a leader who is equally driven by national and international goodwill.
