Hindu Temple In Canada Attacked With Anti-India Graffiti [VIDEO]

A Hindu temple in Canada's British Columbia was reportedly attacked by Khalistan extremists with anti-India graffiti. The incident occurred on Saturday night.

The miscreants pasted the posters of Khalistan referendum posters on the main door of the Lakshmi Narayan Mandir, one of the biggest and oldest Hindu temples in British Columbia.

The message in the graffiti said "Canada investigates India's role in June 18th assassination" linked to Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

The purported video of the incident has now gone viral. In the clip, two masked people are seen pasting graffiti and taking photos before fleeing the spot.

Pro-Khalistan leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar was killed in a targeted shooting in Canada's Surrey. He was shot outside the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in the Punjabi-dominated Surrey city of British Columbia province, according to a report in the IANS. Nijjar was the president of Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in Surrey.

A resident of Bharsinghpur village in Punjab's Jalandhar, Nijjar was found dead inside a car with bullet wounds in the parking lot of Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara Sahib.

Nijjar was also associated with the Sikhs For Justice and has been trying to radicalise the Sikh community across the world. With the aim of creating a separate state of Khalistan, he was trying to get the Sikhs to go against India and carry out violent acts. Nijjar who had designated him as a terrorist under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

This is the third such incident to take place in Canada in 2023.

On January 31, anti-India graffiti defaced a notable Hindu temple in Brampton, provoking deep dismay within the Indian community. In a separate occurrence this April, an additional Hindu temple in Ontario, Canada, fell victim to vandalism by anti-India graffiti. Surveillance footage released by the Windsor Police depicted two suspects spray-painting the temple walls.
