Hindu Americans in Silicon Valley Launch Campaign to Address Anti-Hindu Violence in Bangladesh
Hindu Americans in Silicon Valley have initiated a campaign to highlight ongoing anti-Hindu violence in Bangladesh. This effort, known as the Ask Yunus Why campaign, features costly billboards and large hoardings throughout California. The United Hindu Council unveiled the first billboard at a notable spot on 880-N and Market Street in Oakland before Christmas.

Over the next three months, digital billboards will appear at six strategic locations across the Bay Area. These include high-traffic areas and major bridges, aiming to raise awareness and spark discussions about this pressing issue. The campaign's goal is to draw attention to the plight of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh.
Campaign Focuses on Human Rights
The council expressed deep concern over the violence against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh under Mohammad Yunus's governance. "The harm and violence being perpetrated on the Hindu minority and other minorities in Bangladesh under the governance of Mohammad Yunus is highly regrettable. He and his government should be inclusive of all Bangladeshis and stop oppressing the minorities based on their religion," stated the council.
The campaign also includes a website, www.AskYunusWhy.com, offering additional resources and information. This online platform encourages people to learn more after encountering the billboard messages. It serves as an educational tool for those interested in understanding the situation further.
Call for Action from US Leadership
Representing Hindu-Americans in the Bay Area, the council urged local, state, and national leaders in the US to press Bangladesh's ruling government to safeguard human rights. They emphasised the need for inclusivity and protection of all citizens, regardless of their religious beliefs.
This initiative seeks to engage a broader audience by utilising various media channels. By doing so, it aims to foster dialogue and encourage action from both individuals and authorities concerned with human rights issues globally.
The campaign's strategic use of digital billboards ensures that its message reaches a wide audience. By placing these advertisements in prominent locations, it hopes to capture public attention and provoke meaningful conversations about religious freedom and minority rights.
