High-Risk Operation: US Airman Rescued After F-15E Crash in Iran

In one of its most complex and daring rescue operations, the United States military successfully extracted a stranded airman from inside Iran following the crash of an F-15E fighter jet.

The airman, who was injured after ejecting from the aircraft, reportedly survived for over 24 hours in difficult mountainous terrain while evading Iranian forces. Authorities in Iran had even announced a reward for information leading to his capture, raising the stakes of the mission.

Real-Time Tracking and Massive Deployment

Throughout the ordeal, US forces closely tracked the airman's movements and condition, planning a rescue mission in real time. The operation involved a large-scale deployment of heavily armed aircraft and elite commandos to ensure a safe extraction.

According to reports, American special forces secured the rescue zone by engaging nearby threats, preventing Iranian troops from approaching the site during the critical extraction phase.

Use of Abandoned Airstrip Key to Operation

A crucial element of the mission was the use of an abandoned airstrip in Iran's Isfahan province. The remote location allowed US forces to carry out the operation with a degree of surprise and tactical advantage.

Aircraft Destroyed to Avoid Capture

In a dramatic turn during the mission, two US aircraft transporting the rescue team became immobilised at a remote base after Iranian forces closed in. To prevent sensitive equipment from falling into enemy hands, US personnel destroyed the stranded aircraft.

The evacuation was ultimately completed using three alternative aircraft, which successfully airlifted the rescued airman and the team out of Iranian territory.

Israeli Intelligence Support

An official familiar with the operation indicated that Israel provided critical intelligence support. Israeli forces also reportedly paused their military activity in the area to facilitate the safe execution of the mission.
