Assam Elections: Rahul Gandhi Invokes Zubeen Garg’s Legacy, Attacks CM Himanta Biswa Sarma

To underline that point, Gandhi invoked Zubeen Garg and called the artist a symbol of togetherness in Assam. Gandhi said Garg spent a lifetime bringing different groups closer through music and public work. Gandhi added that Garg never backed efforts that encouraged hatred or separation among citizens.

The rally took place with voting dates already fixed. Assam goes to the polls on April 9. West Bengal votes on April 23 and April 29. Counting of votes for both states is scheduled for May 4, when final results will be declared.
